The parking lot filled up early on Aug. 29 as shoppers turned out for the grand opening of the new 75-store Tanger Outlet Center in Washington, Pa., near Pittsburgh. Tanger officials were stunned by the turnout, which Greensboro, N.C.-based Tanger Factory Outlet Centers said totaled more than 200,000 customers
over the four-day Labor Day weekend and set records for the company.

Settlers’ Green Outlet Village in North Conway, N.H., marks its 20th anniversary with a marketing
and promotional plan that included cooperative
tenant advertising, unique events, live concerts and parades. Opening in 1988 with just over 80,000 sf, the center has grown to more than 240,000 sf.
